Dawg Saturdays Pt. 1

(Shout out to T. Willis on the Pic).

Dawg Saturdays actually start on a Friday for a true Husky. The feeling and excitement for a Dawg fan starts around the same time Shabbat does, and the anticipation of the game has you hearing barks in your sleep. As the husky marching band makes their way around Greek Row, an unrivaled feeling of angst and pride hits the body and mind, and no one needs to tell you, Dawg Saturday is here.

Once Saturday rolls around, Husky Fans no longer worry about what ESPN's college gameday analysts have to say, as well as the emotionless FSN sportscasters. Husky Stadium, one of two stadiums in the nation where you can arrive to the game by boat, becomes the hub for everything that is purple and gold. Alumni, students and future huskies all share the pride of what it means to be a husky. If you don't know someone with a tailgate, than it's time to start making friends. Tailgates provide the proper way to gather with fellow huskies and discuss the match-up, last weeks result, and season predictions. The Moline and Gilson Tailgate are among the two that go unrivaled among the thousands that surround the stadium. Many years of tradition and family husky heritage, the two tailgates can guarantee a full stomach and a perfect pre-game experience. A tailgate is the only way for a fan to truly prepare for a game at Husky Stadium.

Now that the Huskies are winning, students are sticking around to see the third quarter. The student section stays packed and it only helps motivate our football team and the energy of the entire crowd. Even a loss can't uproot our pride this season, and the Dawg Saturday experience is one of the reasons being a Husky has never felt so good.
